In artistic partnership with Randy Kurstin, Sarah Lynn Taylor has made the theatre program at Wilde Lake Middle School an environment where student artists thrive. The Tiger Shark Theatre Company is a challenging and engaging incubator where young students to come into their own artistry. This program has been cultivated with an uncompromising insistence on artistic excellence, committed work ethic, and an unwillingness to limit student potential.

Wilde Lake Middle School students have showcased their theatrical work at the Howard County Secondary Shakespeare Festival in 2018, the Folger Shakespeare Library Secondary School Festivals in 2019 and 2020, and the Howard County Gifted and Talented Expo in 2023. Under the direction of Sarah Lynn Taylor with Randy Kurstin, Wilde Lake Middle School was the first middle school in Howard County to have been granted a charter from the International Thespian Society.

Teaching

Sarah Lynn Taylor is a National Board Certified educator in the area of English Language Arts - Early Adolescence. She holds an Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate from the state of Maryland in the subjects of Secondary English and Theatre (7-12) with ancillary credits in Special Education and Reading. In both the English and the Theatre classroom, she is committed to student growth and achievement through a curricular approach that centers authentic texts and tasks, an anti-racist and queer affirming classroom culture, and opportunities for critical thinking and creativity.
